How Close is Too Close·
In September 2010, Gloucester Resources Limited (GRL) began drilling on properties at the end of Fairbairns Lane, Forbesdale. The results of this drilling program will be the basis of an application to mine.
Under current NSW planning laws, it is almost certain that GRL's application for an open cut mine close to Gloucester will be approved.
Approval will move the allowable mining area from the current northern boundary of the Stratford Mine over
5kms Closer to GLOUCESTER
And this is only stage 1

Your Town
- A rural town with a mine or a mining moonscape around a rural town·
- Weekend motorcycle rides bringing thousands of visitors to cafes or dust covered mining vehicles getting fuel·
- Morning mist in the valley or the eerie orange glow of lights and 24 hour per day, 7 days per week sound of diesel mining equipment
- Which do you prefer·
Your Health
- Clouds of ultra-fine health-damaging dust, funnelled by the Buckets and Mograni Range, will concentrate in Gloucester township and surrounds. The dust plume will follow the valley to Barrington on the prevailing south-westerly winds.
- Are you happy to work, shop, send your kids to school and play sport under a dust cloud with severe health implications·
Your Lifestyle
- The ability to live with the outlook of one of the most scenic valleys in the country sought out by thousands of envious visitors each year as their holiday destination. To swim, conoe and fish in unpolluted rivers and streams. To enjoy the simplest pleasures that living in a vibrant rural community can bring whether you have lived here all your life or have only recently moved here
- Are you happy to sacrifice your country lifestyle for a hole in the ground and hills of leftover dirt·
Your Decision - Have your say before GRL and the State LABOR Government get their way
On 26th March 2011 there will be an election for the State Parliament of NSW. Do you know what the effect of your vote will be· Do you know how the party that you support will respond to your concerns about the approval of GRL's application to mine· Would you prefer that the party you support outline their vision for your valley before the election· Are you prepared to do something that will influence their decision on you, your children's and your grand-children's lives·
